If you’re tired of accommodating OCD…
If avoiding anxiety is no longer working…
If perfectionism, overthinking, or fear are keeping you stuck…

You’re not alone—and you don’t have to keep living this way.

Hey, there. My name is Alexandra.

I help older teens and adults untangle themselves from OCD, anxiety, perfectionism, and phobias. Maybe you feel trapped by intrusive thoughts, rigid rules, constant checking, reassurance-seeking, or the pressure to get things “just right.” Maybe what once felt protective now feels exhausting.

Therapy with me is collaborative, exploratory, and grounded in evidence-based care—with space for curiosity, honesty, and even a bit of humor along the way. I specialize in treating OCD and anxiety using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT).

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker based in Massachusetts, with equivalent licensure in Connecticut and Maine, and a member of the International OCD Foundation. I offer therapy to clients in Massachusetts (in-person & virtual), Connecticut (virtual), and Maine (virtual).

If you’re curious about working together, I invite you to scroll to the “Services” section, below, for details about starting therapy. You can also check out my FAQ page by clicking here.

Services

When you’re struggling with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, the world can feel like a scary, triggering, and lonely place. I empower my clients to stand up to OCD. Through collaboration, education, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions, it is possible to experience relief from your OCD symptoms. Generally, this process involves:

 1. Assessing the way that OCD manifests for you, individually, and the severity of your symptoms.

2. Psychoeducation about OCD, as a diagnosis, and the cycle of obsessions and compulsions.

3. Developing a treatment plan and approaching your symptoms through Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) or Inference-based Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

4. Supplementing ERP or I-CBT with additional strategies, such as Acceptance and Commitment strategies or mindfulness techniques as appropriate.

Specific Phobia

If you are navigating a phobia and looking into therapy, chances are your quality of life has been severely impacted, and limited, by fear and anxiety. Let’s work together to help you get your life back.

Together, we will collaboratively:

 1) Assess the ways in which the specific phobia is taking up space in your life.

2) Explore the role of avoidance and other behaviors that may be reinforcing fear and anxiety.

3) Design a unique plan for approaching your symptoms through Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and exposure therapy.

4) Supplement, as appropriate, with additional modalities.

Anxiety

Let’s be honest—anxiety is a full-body experience. It can affect your thoughts, your feelings, and even your sense of self.

From an evolutionary perspective, anxiety developed as a natural and adaptive response. It alerts us to potential threats and helps keep us safe. But in modern life, our anxious response can sometimes activate in situations where it isn’t actually helpful or necessary.

I believe that curiosity can be a powerful antidote to anxiety. When we approach our anxious thoughts with curiosity rather than judgment, we create space to understand them—and ultimately change our relationship with them.

Together, we will work to:

1. Understand your inner anxious monologue—the patterns, beliefs, and triggers that keep anxiety going.

2. Develop a plan for shifting your relationship with those thoughts, so they have less power over your life.

This work may include approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), exposure-based strategies, mindfulness practices, and exploration of early life experiences and relationships—among others.

Individual Therapy

Therapy is not one-size-fits all. Every individual is unique. Let’s work together to help you identify your goals and achieve them. Sometimes treatment occurs over a short period of time and, sometimes, over a longer period of time. I am honored to accompany you along your journey, regardless of where you are starting and where you want go.

Pricing: Individual therapy visits are $225 per 50 minute session. Let’s talk about how to make therapy accessible through use of out-of-network insurance benefits! If you hope to use your out-of-network insurance benefits, I will gladly provide you with superbills for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

Kindly note that this is a private pay practice and payment is due at the time of session.

Curiosity, Empathy, and a Game Plan…

These are three powerful elements of the therapeutic process. Let’s be curious about the challenges you face. Let’s be empathic towards your history and lived experience. Let’s develop a game plan for improving your quality of life and managing life’s tough moments.
